Keith Herr, MD
Promotion to Associate Professor
Dr. Herr, who also is board certified in psychiatry, has subspecialty training in abdominal imaging and has been practicing in the capacity of an emergency radiologist since beginning his career in radiology. He earned his medical degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo. His academic focus is on trauma imaging research, medical student and radiology trainee education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Sadhna Nandwana, MD
Promotion to Associate Professor
Dr. Nandwana is currently the director of abdominal imaging at Emory University Hospital Midtown and serves on the Radiology Safety Committee at Emory University Hospital. She received her medical degree from Rush Medical College. She has received awards in medical student teaching, including an American Medical Women’s Association Award for Academic Achievement. Her current research interests include quality improvement projects and quality assurance initiatives with a current focus on appropriate utilization of MR imaging and management of contrast reactions.

Deqiang Qiu, PhD
Promotion to Associate Professor
Dr. Qiu currently leads the Computational Neuroimaging & Neuroscience Lab (CN2L) at Emory Radiology. He has been trained as an MR physicist and biomedical engineer and has many years of experience in both developing advanced MRI techniques and applying these techniques in studying neurological diseases. He is an investigator of multiple NIH and industry-funded projects. He collaborates widely with colleagues in radiology.

Nabile Safdar, MD
Promotion to Professor
Dr. Nabile Safdar is the vice chair of imaging informatics for Emory Radiology and the associate chief medical information officer for Emory Healthcare. He received his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University and also holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He completed his radiology residency at the University of Maryland where he also completed his fellowship in imaging informatics and musculoskeletal imaging. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology with a certificate of added qualification in pediatric radiology, and he is board certified in clinical informatics by the American Board of Preventive Medicine.

Amit Saindane, MD, MBA
Promotion to Professor
Dr. Saindane is the vice chair of clinical affairs for Emory Radiology where he promotes operational efficiency and workflow improvements. He is a neuroradiologist and works closely with various departments to provide expert image interpretation and aid in managing difficult clinical problems using advanced imaging techniques across Emory Healthcare sites. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and holds a master’s of business in administration (MBA) from the Emory University Goizueta Business School.

Matthew Zygmont, MD
Promotion to Associate Professor
Dr. Zygmont joined the Division of Emergency and Trauma Imaging after a neuroradiology fellowship at Emory. He has a strong commitment to education and is an active member of the residency education team. His educational interests focus on curriculum development and call preparation assessment. His current research interests involve quality assurance programs for emergency medicine imaging protocols.
