October Merrill Award – 1st place 
Betsy Collins from Executive Park was one of five 1st place winners for the October Merrill Award. She won for her elbow x-ray exam. The Merrill Award celebrates Emory Radiology’s x-ray technologists for exemplary imaging quality and patient care. Three Emory sites participate in the Merrill Award program: Emory University Hospital, Winship Cancer Institute, Emory Orthopaedic and Spine Center at Executive Park.

JACR Silver Medal Exceptional Manuscript Review
This award is reserved for Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR) peer reviewers who provided at least 50 high-quality manuscript reviews over a lifetime. Dr. Duszak joins only 5 others in receiving this honor.

Mark Mullins, MD, PhD
ARRS Outstanding Educator Award
Dr. Mark Mullins is the recipient of the 2020 American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) Distinguished Educator Award. This award recognizes outstanding individuals in medical imaging who have a proven record of improving radiological education and remain committed to creating and implementing new and innovative educational activities. Dr. Mullins will be formally recognized during the opening ceremony of the 120th ARRS Annual Meeting on Sunday, May 3, 2020 in Chicago, Illinois.

Alex Munoz
October Merrill Award – 1st place; December Merrill Award – 3rd place
Alex Munoz from Emory University Hospital was one of five 1st place winners for the October Merrill Award. He won with two nominations for his portable abdomen and knee x-rays. Alex was also the 3rd place December Merrill Award winner for his great technique and centering during a PKUB exam. The Merrill Award celebrates Emory Radiology’s x-ray technologists for exemplary imaging quality and patient care. Three Emory sites participate in the Merrill Award program: Emory University Hospital, Winship Cancer Institute, Emory Orthopaedic and Spine Center at Executive Park.

AVIR 2020 Gold Medal Lecture
The Gold Medal Award is a way for the Association of Vascular and Interventional Radiologists (AVIR) to honor someone with significant contributions to the organization. Dr. Newsome is a champion for AVIR through her passions for patients, colleagues, education, and community. Her lecture will be presented on Sunday, March 28 at 8:00 a.m in Seattle, Washington.

Veena Rajeevan from Winship Cancer Insitute was one of five 1st place winners for the October Merrill Award. She won for her shoulder x-ray exams. Veena was also the 2nd place Merrill Award winner in December for her SI joint x-ray image.
