Adejimi Adeniji
Assistant Professor
Dr. Adejimi Adeniji joins the Pediatric Imaging team, which is part of the Pediatric Institute, a partnership between Emory University School of Medicine and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Adeniji earned his medical degree from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria. He then completed radiology residency at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook Country and Rush Medical College followed by fellowship training in pediatric imaging at Baylor College of Medicine.

Enoch Asiedu joined Emory Radiology in September as an advanced practice provider (APP) for interventional radiology at Emory Decatur Hospital. Mr. Asiedu earned his MHS in physician assistant studies from Duke University School of Medicine. He also __ “The most exciting part of my job is seeing the smiles on patients’ faces after completion of an interventional procedure in which immediate results are achieved. Additionally, coming to work in a place where cutting-edge medicine is utilized gives me great joy,” he says. When not at work, he enjoys DIY projects ranging from carpentry to automobile repairs.

Daniel Ayers

Dan Ayers joined Emory Radiology’s interventional radiology team after working with the bone marrow transplant and leukemia services at Emory University Hospital. He brings more than 25 years of medical experience with a strong background in internal medicine, emergency medicine, plastic and bariatric surgery, and oncology. Mr. Ayers began his career in Moultrie, GA as the first physician assistant in the county. He earned his physician assistant degree at Alderson-Broaddus University in West Virginia where he remained on the Dean’s List throughout his degree program. After graduation, Mr. Ayers received the gold star designation on his PA board certification, scoring in the top 5% in the nation on the primary care track. In his free time, he volunteers as medical director at a free clinic in Honduras and Haiti and enjoys spending time with his wife and children.

Her special interests include imaging informatics, quality improvement, health services research, and innovation. During her diagnostic radiology residency training at Emory, Dr. Balthazar served as a chief resident and served in various national leadership roles. She earned her medical degree from Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saude Publica, Brazil and completed a transitional year at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, MA. After residency training at Emory, she completed fellowships in body imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital and evidence-based imaging and informatics at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, both in Boston, MA.

Dr. Bello earned his MD from Universidad de San Martίn de Porres in Peru. Dr. Bello has expertise in global health partnerships, having participated in the Global Health Residency Scholars Program at Emory and serving as a general practitioner in a rural service program for medical graduates (SERUMS) in Moyobamba, Peru.

Dr. Calisi is a breast imaging radiologist with additional experience in research, public health, and nonprofit activism. His research interests include medical education, medical ethics, and health policy. He is a US Department of State Fulbright Scholar and a British Council Global Changemaker. He was awarded multiple international scholarships from Germany, Australia, and others. Dr. Calisi has experience in non-profit activism in the Middle East advocating for human rights, and holds a Global Leadership Certificate from the University of Georgia. Dr. Calisi earned his MD from the University of Baghdad, Iraq followed by an MPH from the University of Georgia. He completed both an internship and radiology residency at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, followed by a breast imaging fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

A self-described work-team player, Dr. Essien says, “I’m glad to utilize my experience and skill sets to help promote/advance research in the division.” Dr. Essien earned his MBChB from the University of Ghana School of Medicine and Dentistry in Accra, Ghana, where he also earned a BS in medical sciences. He recently earned an MPH degree from Emory University. Outside of work. Dr. Essien is a soccer enthusiast.

Rachel François joins the Emory Radiology team to provide administrative support for department leaders Deb Smith, Dr. Richard Duszak, Dr. Marta Heilbrun, Dr. Nabil Safdar, and Dr. Amit Saindane. She is a self-described results-driven health care professional with extensive leadership and operational experience. Rachel began her health care career in pediatric family medicine in 2015. She transitioned to the hospital in 2017 where she worked in oncology and PET/CT managing resources to reduce costs while increasing employee satisfaction and improving efficiency in an ambulatory health care setting. She is a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. “There is a genuine spirit of cooperation and shared goals all revolving around helping the department that I have not found at other corporations. I hope to contribute my maximum to sustain success and growth of the department,” she says. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys traveling.

Ashley joins Emory Radiology after serving as lead APP of the Pulmonary Acute Care team of Piedmont Pulmonary/Georgia Lung Associates, where she worked for 14 and a half years. Ashley is passionate about people and serving others. She earned her MHS in physician assistant studies from the Medical College of Georgia and graduated from the University of Georgia with a BS in biology. She loves spending time with her family and children. Traveling and cheering on her Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs are some of her favorite activities.

Jacqui Harmon has joined the faculty of the Medical Imaging Program. She describes herself as a “ridiculously positive person who fully appreciates the art and science of medical imaging.” Jacki frequently draws on her own career as an imaging technologist to illustrate clinical concepts and practices. After completing her initial training as a radiographer at Athens Technical College, Jackie came to Emory, where she earned a BMSc in medical imaging and graduated with honors with a concentration on medical imaging education. She worked in private practice as a radiologic technologist and also served as clinical coordinator and instructor of radiographic procedures for Lanier Technical College. In her spare time, she pursued graduate studies and earned a master's degree in radiologic science from Midwestern State University.

As an interventional radiologist, his focused interest is liver diseases including biliary conditions, portal hypertension, and liver cancer. Dr. Kocharyan also is interested in diagnosis and management of venous disease and complex venous reconstructions. He is a graduate of the Emory Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship program. He earned his medical degree from Yerevan State Medical University in Yerevan, Armenia, where he also completed training in general surgery. In the United States Dr. Kocharyan completed an internship program at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH, and radiology residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center.

Dr. Lewis is an active member of the department's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.

She completed an internship at Brookwood Baptist Health, diagnostic radiology residency at Augusta University Medical Center, and a breast imaging fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. During her residency, she received the Red Cross Medical Hero Award for taking action at the scene of an accident until emergency personnel arrived.

He earned is MBBS degree from Christian Medical College in Vellore, India. He then completed nuclear medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, and diagnostic radiology residency at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, followed by a molecular imaging and theragnostic fellowship at Emory.

She is a pediatric radiologist with a special focus on musculoskeletal imaging. Dr. Ndibe earned her MD from Medical College of Georgia, Augusta and an Master of Public Administration for Albany State University. She completed a transitional year program at Morehouse School of Medicine followed by diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a fellowship in pediatric imaging at Emory.

He is responsible for data construction, management, and analysis, as well as stewarding all phases of the peer-reviewed research process. He earned his MS in economics from Georgia Tech, and a bachelor of business administration and economics degree with an emphasis on consulting from the University of Georgia. “I’m excited about the opportunity to conduct research in a medical school of such renown and to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in radiology,” he says. “I’m most stimulated in my trade when challenged with ambiguity, requiring innovation and improvisation to push forward.” Stefan enjoys rock climbing when not working, as well as weight training.

He subsequently completed a transitional year program with Signature Healthcare/BIDM in Brockton, MA, followed by a diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine residency and fellowship training in musculoskeletal imaging and intervention, all at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

She received RSNA Research Resident and Research Fellow grants for her study of functional brain connectivity changes underlying vestibular symptoms persistent after mild traumatic brain injury. She earned her medical degree from Saint Petersburg State Medical University named after academician I.P. Pavlov, in Russia. She completed diagnostic radiology residency and a neuroradiology fellowship with Emory Radiology.
