Olayinka Abiodun-Ojo, MD, MPH
Alavi-Mandell Award
Dr. Abiodun-Ojo is the recipient of Alavi–Mandell Award from the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. The Alavi-Mandell Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the field from young scientists, fellows, or physician residents who have published as first authors excellent original articles in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine. Dr. Abiodun-Ojo was honored for her publication, “F-Fluciclovine parameters on targeted prostate biopsy associated with true positivity in recurrent prostate cancer.”

AUR Trainee Prize Award -1st Place Poster or Exhibit
A medical student, resident, or first-year fellow who is both the primary author and the presenter of an accepted abstract is eligible for the Trainee Prizes. First, second and third prizes are awarded for the best papers and for the best posters or exhibits. Chief Resident Dr. Patricia Balthazar received 1st place recognition for her poster/exhibit this year.

Accepted into Academy for Radiology and Biomedical Imaging Research CECI Program
The Academy for Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Research created the Council of Early Investigators in Imaging (CECI²) in 2014 to recognize the achievements of researchers who are in the early phases of their careers and to engage them in advocacy for research funding. This year, Dr. Judy Gichoya was accepted into the program.

Anna Holbrook, MD
Fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging
Dr. Anna Holbrook was recently accepted as a Fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI). The SBI is a non-profit organization established in 1985 to provide services to professionals working in breast imaging. To become a fellow, nominees must have an achievement of 100 or more points, with a minimum of 40 points in the category of publications. Publications must be breast imaging specific, and nominees are required to have three 1st author publications in the category of scientific articles in a peer-reviewed journal. Two current Fellows of the Society must support a nominee, and at least one of the letters of support must come from a current Fellow at a different institution than that of the applicant.

The Society of Abdominal Radiology (SAR) was created in 2012 out of the merger of the Society of Gastrointestinal Radiologists and the Society of Uroradiology. Those who are appointed a Fellow of SAR have made a significant contribution to the field of abdominal radiology; are engaged in the practice, teaching, or research of abdominal radiology; and demonstrate a continued interest in the field with at least 50% of their professional medical practice devoted to the study of the abdomen and pelvis.
