Letter from the chair
Dear Colleagues,
2020 has been a most challenging year and one in which we have had to rapidly adapt to an unprecedented global pandemic. COVID-19 has tried us in many ways. I continue to be in awe of how Emory Radiology teams have pushed through to think outside the box in our service to each of our missions. We have learned how to ramp down and ramp up again, and to keep ourselves and our patients safe. I am deeply grateful to have the privilege of leading with you during this period.
At this writing, I feel a sense of both caution and hopefulness as 2020 ebbs toward a new year. Effective vaccines are in reach (!), yet we cannot get complacent about taking all precautions for months to come. We are in the midst of a third surge in COVID-19 cases in Georgia and nationally. While we may feel tired of continuously masking, distancing from each other, and washing and rewashing our hands, it’s critical that we remain vigilant at this moment…so that we can enjoy time with friends, colleagues, and family in the future.
Wishing each of you a peaceful and safe holiday season.
Best
Carolyn
