letter from the INTERIM chair - FEBRUARY 2022
Dear Colleagues,
The new year has brought forth a time of tremendous challenge and opportunity. The Omicron surge of COVID-19 placed unprecedented demands on our already stretched frontline faculty, staff, and trainees. Despite it all, our team in Radiology persevered and rallied to continue providing exceptional care to our patients, training to our many learners, and advances in discovery and innovation. From my new vantage point as Interim Chair, I have been so impressed by the compassion, resilience, and ingenuity our department’s people during these difficult times.
This issue of Rad Report welcomes new faces including LaTasha Paige, our new program director for quality and patient safety, and a number of new faculty, advanced practice providers, researchers, and staff who I know will contribute greatly to our diverse and growing department.
Whether it is improving patient care through novel radiotracers, pitching innovative solutions to important clinical problems, bringing in grants to advance our understanding of disease, or deftly supporting our academic programs, our people continue to be what makes Emory Radiology such a special place. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such amazing people.
Best,
Amit
