
The Emory Radiology Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee is hosting its second fireside chat on Tuesday, February 22. The event will feature a short and evocative presentation by Dr. Nadja Kadom, professor of radiology and imaging sciences, about the cultural and personal significance of a person's name as well as ways names can be misused and even weaponized. Facilitated discussion in a safe, supportive space will follow. All are welcome to share and to learn.
Dr. Kadom is an adult and pediatric neuroradiologist at Emory and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Radiology. She has been actively engaged in the DEI community, and has published on DEI topics such as #MeToo, LGBTQ, and the business case for diversity. Dr. Kadom has experienced negative effects from a nickname in the past and strongly advocates for not using nicknames at work.
